Greg Blackaby, Director
Greg is an accountant who became an entrepreneur, then came back to accounting with a different view of what it should do. He owns and runs several Brisbane accounting firms, including Acquire Strategic Accounting, and brings more than 20 years of experience in accounting, tax, advisory, structuring and business acquisitions.
That mix matters. Greg has sat on both sides of the table. He has built businesses, bought businesses and advised owners through the same decisions. When he looks at your numbers, he is not just checking they add up. He is asking what you could do with them.
Clients tend to bring Greg the knotty problems: group structures, deals, exits and the occasional international tax tangle. As Brad from Manna Health says, "Greg has been an absolute lifesaver when it comes to navigating complex international tax matters."

Lauren
Lauren is a Managing Partner and Chartered Accountant, and the person many of our clients talk to most. She leads alongside Greg across the client base and is often the one guiding a new business through its setup, getting the day-to-day accounting organised and making sure nothing slips between meetings.
The feedback speaks for itself. Inga from Niche Luxury Transfers: "Lauren has been absolutely fantastic in guiding us through the set-up of our Pty Ltd business." John and Maeghan from Snap On Tools: "Lauren & Greg have provided an end to end service which goes above and beyond what we were expecting."

A wider team across three firms
Behind Greg and Lauren sits a bigger team. Acquire Strategic Accounting, VKS Accounting and Veal & Prasad now operate under one roof, with offices in Victoria Point and Jimboomba. Each firm brought its own people and its own client relationships.
In practice that means more hands on the compliance work, more experience to draw on for unusual problems, and cover when someone is on leave. Tax returns, BAS and bookkeeping are shared across the group so that strategy conversations get the time they need.

How we work with clients
Every client has a lead contact who knows the business and a wider team behind them. Compliance runs on a calendar so deadlines are never a surprise. Strategy work, like forecasting, restructuring or exit planning, runs as a project with a clear scope and a clear finish.
We are a Xero Platinum Partner and Xero is our platform of choice, so your numbers are live, shared and visible to everyone who needs them. Meetings happen in Victoria Point, in Jimboomba or by video. Plenty of our clients are interstate and have never set foot in either office.
The tone is deliberately relaxed. We would rather you ask a simple question in March than deal with a complicated problem in June.
What clients say about the team
We ask clients for feedback regularly, and we publish it exactly as they wrote it.
Mark from Mark Pennington Physiotherapy: "ASA have been amazing in simplifying my financial matters which allows me to make informed choices." Sulett from Pebble Community Support: "Pebble Community has been receiving exceptional service from Acquire Strategic over the past few years." Tayte from Alphaline Projects: "We have been working with Acquire Strategic Accounting for some time now, and we couldn't be more pleased."
If you would like to meet the people behind those quotes, the easiest way is a strategy call. Bring the question that is keeping you up at night and we will take it from there.
Questions we get asked
Who will I deal with at Acquire Strategic Accounting?
You will have a lead contact who knows your business, with the wider team behind them for compliance work. Greg Blackaby, our Director, is hands-on with structuring, deals and exit planning. Lauren, our Managing Partner and a Chartered Accountant, works closely with clients on setup, day-to-day accounting and keeping things moving. Which people you see most depends on what your business needs from us.
Is Greg Blackaby still hands-on with clients?
Yes. Greg owns and runs several Brisbane accounting firms, but strategy is the part of the job he enjoys most. Clients bring him group structures, acquisitions, exits and complex tax questions. The compliance work is shared across the team so that his time goes where it adds the most value, usually at the planning and decision-making end.
Can I meet the team in person?
Of course. We have offices at 7/222 Colburn Avenue, Victoria Point and at Jimboomba Junction Shopping Centre, 10b/671 Cusack Lane, Jimboomba. Meetings are by appointment so we can give you proper time. If visiting is not convenient, video calls work just as well, and many of our clients have never needed to come in.
Do you have accountants in Jimboomba as well as Victoria Point?
Yes. Our Jimboomba office operates as VKS Accounting and is part of the group, so the full Acquire Strategic Accounting service range is available there. Clients in Logan, the Scenic Rim and the southern growth corridor can deal with Jimboomba directly, with the Victoria Point team involved whenever a structuring, valuation or advisory project calls for it.
How big is the team?
Across the three firms we have a team large enough to cover tax, BAS, bookkeeping, SMSF accounting, structuring and advisory without any one person being a bottleneck. Exact numbers change as the group grows, and individual profiles are being added to this page. What does not change is that you will know who your contact is.
