Accountant Springfield

Accountants Serving Greater Springfield Businesses

Greater Springfield has gone from paddocks to a city with a hospital, a university and a major shopping centre in about two decades. The Acquire Strategic group works with Springfield business owners from its Jimboomba office, and mostly by video. Here is what we do for the area and who we do it with.

Which office serves Greater Springfield?

Mostly Jimboomba. VKS Accounting in Jimboomba is the closer office, south-east via the Centenary Motorway and Logan Motorway, or through Greenbank on country roads if you prefer. Our Victoria Point office on the bayside suits anyone who works on that side of Brisbane.

In practice, most Springfield clients meet us by video for routine work and visit an office once or twice a year for the big conversations. Xero, electronic signatures and a secure document portal cover the rest.

Phone 07 5546 9158 for Jimboomba or 07 3899 9934 for Victoria Point, and tell us where you are. We will suggest the easiest option.

What Springfield business owners tell us

Kurt from NGU Real Estate Greater Springfield put it simply: "Working with Acquire Strategic Accounting has been a game-changer for our business." Real estate agencies are a big part of Springfield's economy, and they are a good example of what the area needs: an accountant who understands commission income, trust account rules and the cash flow swings of a settlement-driven business.

The same goes for the other industries clustered around Springfield Central, Brookwater and Augustine Heights. Medical and allied health practices near Mater Private Hospital Springfield, education and training businesses near the university campus, hospitality around Orion, and the trades and developers building Spring Mountain and Ripley.

Accounting for a city that is still being built

Greater Springfield is unusual because so much of it is new. That shapes the accounting questions. Businesses are often in their first five years, leases are long and fit-outs are expensive, and owners have borrowed to get started. Cash flow forecasting is not a luxury here, it is how you sleep at night.

Our virtual CFO service gives Springfield owners a monthly picture of where the money is going, a rolling forecast and the modelling to test a decision before making it. Opening a second clinic in Springfield Lakes, hiring a second sales agent, or taking on a bigger warehouse in Redbank are all easier calls with the numbers in front of you.

Tax planning sits alongside that. We talk to Springfield clients before the end of each financial year about timing, structure and what the ATO's current rules mean for their position, so nothing arrives as a surprise.

  • Monthly reporting and rolling cash flow forecasts
  • Scenario modelling for expansion decisions
  • Tax planning before 30 June, not after
  • Budgets that connect to what the bank actually shows

Structuring for Springfield's growing businesses

When a business grows quickly, the structure it started with often stops fitting. A real estate principal who began as a sole trader may now own a rent roll, employ a team and be thinking about a second office in Ripley. An allied health practitioner may be about to bring on partners.

We review entity structures for Springfield owners and advise on trusts, companies and holding structures where they make sense. Asset protection matters more as the business becomes valuable, and succession becomes a real question once there is something worth passing on.

Greg Blackaby's background in structuring and business acquisitions means these conversations go beyond the standard advice. If buying a competing agency or selling to a larger group is on the table, we can model it, value it and help negotiate it.

A firm Springfield can trust

The Acquire Strategic group is three firms founded by Greg: Acquire Strategic Accounting, VKS Accounting and Veal & Prasad. The group was nominated for Firm of the Year in 2024 and for the Karbon Excellence Award for Client Excellence in 2025. It is a Xero Platinum Partner.

For Springfield owners, the practical meaning is a firm with depth in structuring and advisory that is still small enough to know your name and answer your call. That is the balance we try to keep.

Questions we get asked

Do you have an office in Springfield?

Not in Springfield itself. Greater Springfield is served mainly from VKS Accounting at Jimboomba Junction Shopping Centre, the closer of our two offices, with Acquire Strategic Accounting at Colburn Avenue, Victoria Point, as the other option. Most Springfield clients meet by video for routine work and visit an office for larger strategy conversations. Call either office and we will suggest the easiest option.

Which suburbs in Greater Springfield do you serve?

Springfield, Springfield Central, Springfield Lakes, Brookwater, Augustine Heights, Spring Mountain, Camira, Bellbird Park, Redbank Plains, Goodna and the newer estates toward Ripley. We also work with businesses across the wider Ipswich area. Because much of our work is online, the postcode matters less than the fit.

Do you work with real estate agencies in Springfield?

Yes. NGU Real Estate Greater Springfield is a client, and Kurt described working with us as a game-changer for the business. We understand commission structures, trust account compliance, rent roll valuations and the cash flow swings that come with settlement timing, and we help principals structure their agencies for growth.

Can you help a new Springfield business get set up?

That is a common request in a growing area. We help you choose between a sole trader, company or trust structure, handle the ASIC and ATO registrations, set up Xero and payroll, and build a first-year cash flow forecast. Getting the structure right early is much cheaper than fixing it after the business is valuable.

Do you offer tax returns for individuals living in Springfield Lakes?

We do, in person or online. Many Springfield residents have a mix of salary, rental property and investment income, and some run a side business from home. We prepare the return, look for deductions you are generally entitled to under the ATO's rules, and flag anything about your wider set-up worth discussing.
