Firm of the Year 2024 nomination
Firm of the Year is the broadest recognition an accounting practice can receive. It looks at the whole practice rather than a single project: how the firm is run, how it serves clients, how it has grown and how it looks after its people.
For us, 2024 was the year the strategy-first model proved itself at scale. More clients were moving from a once-a-year tax relationship to ongoing advisory, Virtual CFO and structuring work, and the firm was growing into a group of four. Being nominated for Firm of the Year was a signal that the approach works beyond a handful of clients.
We do not treat it as a finish line. The things that earned the nomination, clear communication, live numbers and advice that looks forward, are the things we are measured on every week by clients.
LYD Strategist of the Year 2024 nomination
Strategist of the Year recognises advisory work, not compliance. It is awarded for the quality of strategic thinking a firm brings to its clients: structuring, planning, forecasting and helping owners make better decisions with their numbers.
This one matters to us because strategy is the point. Anyone can lodge a return. Helping a founder see three years ahead, choose the right structure and prepare a business for sale is where we add the most value, and it is good to have that noticed by people outside the firm through the nomination.
Grant Abbott Innovation Award 2024 nomination
The Innovation Award recognises firms that are doing something genuinely different in how they deliver accounting and advisory services. It rewards new ways of working rather than more of the same.
We think of innovation in small, practical terms: cloud-first systems, live numbers, creative structuring ideas tested against the ATO's current rules, and a client experience that does not feel like it was designed in 1995. The nomination recognised that combination, and it keeps us honest about continuing to improve it.
Karbon Excellence Award for Client Excellence 2025 nomination
The Karbon Excellence Awards recognise accounting firms across a range of categories. The Client Excellence category is about one thing: how clients experience the firm. Responsiveness, clarity, communication and whether clients feel genuinely looked after.
We were nominated in 2025 for Client Excellence. It lines up with what clients tell us directly. Tayte from Alphaline Projects: "We have been working with Acquire Strategic Accounting for some time now, and we couldn't be more pleased." Kurt from NGU Real Estate Greater Springfield: "Working with Acquire Strategic Accounting has been a game-changer for our business."
Xero Platinum Partner
Xero Platinum Partner status is Xero's recognition of firms that work with a large number of clients on its platform and have deep experience in it. It is less an award than a measure of scale and know-how.
In practice it means our team lives in Xero every day. Setups, migrations, app integrations, bookkeeping and reporting all run through a platform we know inside out. For clients, that means fewer surprises, cleaner data and faster answers when something looks odd.
Being a Platinum Partner also keeps us close to new Xero features and connected apps, so clients hear about useful tools early rather than years later.
What the nominations mean for you
Award nominations do not pay your tax or grow your business. We know that. What they do is give a founder choosing an accountant some outside evidence that the firm does what it says it does.
The four nominations cover the four things we care about: running a good practice, bringing real strategy, doing things differently and looking after clients. If those are the things you want from an accountant, we should talk.

Questions we get asked
What awards has Acquire Strategic Accounting been nominated for?
Four industry award nominations across two years: Firm of the Year 2024, LYD Strategist of the Year 2024, the Grant Abbott Innovation Award 2024 and the Karbon Excellence Award for Client Excellence 2025. The firm is also a Xero Platinum Partner. Together the nominations recognise practice management, strategic advisory, innovation in service delivery and the quality of the client experience.
What is a Xero Platinum Partner?
Xero's partner program ranks accounting and bookkeeping firms by the number of clients they support on Xero and their depth of experience with the platform. Platinum is one of the higher tiers. For a client it means the firm works in Xero daily and can handle setup, migration, integrations and reporting without a learning curve on your time.
Does an award-nominated accountant cost more?
Not because of the nominations. Fees at Acquire Strategic Accounting are based on the scope of work, whether that is a tax return, ongoing bookkeeping or a structuring project. We agree the scope and the fee before work starts. The nominations reflect how we work, not a premium on top of it.
What does Strategist of the Year mean for my business?
It means the firm was nominated for the advisory side of accounting: structuring, planning, forecasting and decision support. If you want an accountant who will help you think about where the business is heading rather than only report on where it has been, that nomination is a reasonable signal that you are in the right place.
How do I know if an accountant is the right fit?
Awards help, but a conversation helps more. Ask how they would approach your specific situation, who you would deal with day to day, and what they would do differently from your current setup. If the answers are specific, plain and show genuine interest in your business, you are probably in good hands. A strategy call is the easiest way to find out.
